As a non-profit organisation Ostomy SA serves the community by providing medical appliances, support and advice to members, their families and carers. Our members a have a stoma which is an opening formed on the skin where part of the digestive system empties. This maybe a result of birth defects, cancer, accident or disease. It may be permanent or temporary. Our members range in age from new born to over 100 years old.
find out moreOASA receives funds via the annual membership (Access) fee and administration fee in addition to a small payment from the Australian Government of 2.75% of the cost of the products we dispense to help cover costs to maintain the building, pay our bills, Stomal Therapy Nurse and much more. We have volunteers who work in the warehouse packing postal orders, on the front counter on distribution days, in the office or on the phone welcoming new members. Theres also options for gardening, and behind the scenes restocking of shelves, sorting out stock etc
